We are thrilled that Sandra Howling, perpetual student, committed ashtangi and gracious, generous teacher is coming to Yoga Rocks this year. Yay! A juicy trail of yoga studies behind her, this is the perfect retreat for those wanting to dive deep into ashtanga vinyasa yoga. From beginners learning primary series through to intermediate practitioners and those on the opening part of 3rd Series, Sandra will support and enhance your practice.
Sandra will teach a usual ashtanga retreat schedule; probably kicking off with a traditional led primary series on the first morning to bring everyone together. Those newer to the practice can see what it is all about and modifications will be fully available. Mornings after that will be assisted self-practice until Friday will see everyone together in a bumper led class to finish the week. This is a great opportunity for budding self-practice practitioners to get comfortable with this entrancing yoga method and capable veterans to refine their moves. There will be afternoon workshops on some days intertwined with space for serious siestas or expeditions. Overall the schedule is fluid and, as is necessary on ashtanga vinyasa retreats, will emerge organically depending on the group.
My aim is to help people develop a personal, safe and healing practise. I am continually grateful to all who share yoga with me. Deep gratitude especially goes to my teacher and my dear students….all of whom inspire me to keep learning and sharing the way of yoga everyday.
