You won’t need to bring anything complicated but this list may help with efficient packing! As with all holidays you’ll probably find you did not need to bring as many things as you have done so we seriously suggest you pack lightly.
Please bring essentials to the retreat as we are essentially in the middle of nowhere. There is a small shop attached to the taverna on the bay that can provide sun cream or a toothbrush. The nearest cash points are half an hour’s drive away. You will need money for transfers, maybe a massage, souvenirs or drinks at a taverna, sun loungers and the Friday night meal out which is €15-20. Occasionally on a retreat we organise a boat trip to Preveli for those that fancy it – it’s also about €15.
Essential Retreat Items:
Walking shoes, if you are planning to walk
Sun hat, sun cream, sun glasses
Beach towel(s) or sarong(s)- we provide room towels
Comfortable yoga clothes including warm wear for slow classes.
The summer dresses you hardly wear
Cool, practical summer clothes
Some long sleeves for beach cover up/sun burn
Warmer clothes clothes for cool dawnings and evenings
Enough money (the cash point is thirty minutes drive away)
A water bottle
Binoculars (for birds or the very unlikely possibility of dolphins)
Snorkel, mask and flippers (we have them at Yoga Rocks to borrow, if you have your own it’s better to bring them)
A good book or two (though we have quite a nice library)
Yoga Rocks Free Shop
Our free shop tends to have essentials like shampoo, toothpaste and sunscreen. It’s there if you forget, or can’t bring them due to luggage restrictions. It’s not really a shop, just a couple of crates of stuff left behind so don’t bring extra money nor get excited about an authentic Cretan shopping experience 😉
